This accountability project is based on giving our young people the opportunity to learn basic life skills that they can use as an adult when they leave us.
The boys have created a vegetable patch in their gardens where they are learning the importance of growing their own fruit and vegetables.
They are also taking take part in sewing lessons, where they are learning how to repair small holes, replacing buttons etc.
We are lucky enough at Kites to have onsite maintenance staff who provide the boys the opportunity to take part in supervised repair tasks around the homes, this includes painting and decorating, unblocking sinks, changing lightbulbs, flatpack building and general DIY.
We hope by providing these opportunities our young people will learn the skills they need to be confident and independent in everyday life.
