For the past 10 weeks the students at our school have been lucky enough to have volunteers from Southend United Football Club come out and meet them in the local park once a week for football lessons.
During these sessions, the boys have been learning how to work as a team. The sessions have allowed them to learn to come up with strategies together and use each other’s strength and weaknesses to complement each other on the pitch.
It has also been amazing to see them cheering each other on and celebrating their victories together. They have not only focused on football but also smaller games that concentrate on throwing and catching. When they have been unable to meet in the park, SUFC were able to come to the school and see where the boys learn. They even prepared some quizzes for the boys which was great fun and there was a lot of laughter!
Thank you, Southend United Football Club!
