Easter Holiday

During the Easter break the boys set off for their annual holiday, this year they were off to Eastbourne. They packed up the minibus and started their journey, stopping for lunch halfway. Once the group arrived at their destination, they relaxed in the communal area playing some board games and doing some puzzles.

They all sat for a briefing of the week where the staff outlined the expectations, boundaries, and general consensus for the holiday.

The first dinner of the holiday was chicken wraps enjoyed by all. The young people helped to prepare and cook dinner and helped to wash up and clear the table, great teamwork. The evening was spent with a light stroll in the local area, then a game of top Trumps after. The lads settled down for the night, with tea and biscuits.

The following morning the group enjoyed visiting planet golf, and then heading to the beach where they all enjoyed eating lunch on the pier. The boys all had lots of fun playing on the beach together before heading off for a 2-mile hike exploring the local areas.

The group headed back home and relaxed in the communal area, playing some board games before dinner. All the lads created their own pizzas to cook and helped make some delicious sides to go with.

The following morning started with a cooked breakfast for all before they set off for Birling Gap to begin their walk towards Beachy Head. The boys all did so well completing the 9 mile coastal and countryside walk taking in all the beautiful views. The boys all demonstrated superb teamwork and problem-solving skills when they became unsure of where they were, pointing out an area in the distance that looked familiar, and finding the nearest map signs allowed them to follow the route and find their way.

The evening was spent enjoying jacket potatoes for dinner before heading off to the cinema for a late-night film.

The following day, the group was split into two, half went off to a wildlife park. After the wildlife park they went to Lewes, visiting the castle and museum where they enjoyed learning and dressing up in historical clothing.

The second group went to play some augmented darts and pool in Eastbourne town centre; they then went on to Birling Gap to walk the seven sisters peak trail; unfortunately, due to time they only made it to the 6th peak which the group was not totally happy with but managed well. It was an amazing effort from everybody.

That evening was spent at the accommodation enjoying a well-earned takeaway, the group all chatted about the different activities they had taken part in and expressed how they all really enjoyed the holiday. Each person identified a favourite moment, some had a few!!

The last morning was spent tiding up and packing all their belongings away before they started their journey home, stopping for a McDonalds lunch, to top off a fantastic week away.

Despite a few holiday blues when they arrived home, all the boys were very upbeat and excited to tell staff how much of a blast they had in Eastbourne!
